Boca Raton Historical Society’s Heritage Education Programs to Benefit

Boca Raton, Fl – (September 28, 2007)

Cheers! It's time to mark your calendar and clear your schedule for a tasty weekend of fun. Planning for the Sixth Annual Boca Bacchanal Winefest & Auction, the Boca Raton Historical Society’s largest and most eagerly anticipated fundraiser is in full swing with the committee holding regular meetings and invitations confirmed with the nation’s top chefs and an international array of acclaimed vintners.

Scheduled for February 29 – March 2, 2008, this year’s sensational wine and food event will feature sumptuous Friday night Vintner Dinners, featuring nationally acclaimed Chefs and world-class vintners, held in private residences. The centerpiece of the weekend is The Bacchanal & Auction held Saturday evening at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. It features a dynamic reception with a silent auction, an amazing dinner created by the Vintner Dinner Chefs and Vintners and the exciting live auction, with fabulous wine and lifestyle lots up for bid. Sunday is the Grand Tasting held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, and features a culinary marketplace and over 140 wines to sample and “by the bite” specialties of 30 local restaurants.

“We are keeping some details under wraps until we have all of the chefs and vintners confirmed, but I have seen the list and I can tell you this will be one of the top food and wine events in the country,” said Sharon Shubin, event Chairman. “One good way to keep up with developing news is to visit our always current website at The committee is going to ‘uncork’ the final Vintner Dinner chef and vintner pairings at a special party on November 29, so stay tuned!”

This year’s edition of Boca Bacchanal will benefit the Boca Raton Historical Society’s Heritage Education Programs, which take the past, as well as the unfolding history and heritage of Boca Raton, into the community.

Once again Republic National Distributing Company, The Boca Raton Resort & Club, Boca Raton Magazine and The Wine News are among the major sponsors.
