Boca Bacchanal Winefest Announces Featured Chefs and Vintners

Boca Raton Historical Society’s Heritage Education Programs to Benefit

Boca Raton, Fl – (October 19, 2007)

Boca Bacchanal is pleased to announce the featured Vintner Dinner chefs and vintners for the 6th annual event to be held February 29 – March 2, 2008. The Chefs and Vintners were announced at a festive kick-off party at Nick’s Fish Market of Hawaii restaurant in Boca Raton and hosted by Republic National Distributing Company and the restaurant.

The renowned chefs are: John Doherty, Executive Chef, The Waldorf=Astoria, New York, NY; Donald Link, Chef/Owner, Herbsaint and Cochon, New Orleans, LA; Cindy Hutson, Chef/Owner, Ortanique on the Mile, Coral Gables, FL; Louis Osteen, Chef/Owner Louis’s at Pawley’s Island and the Fish Camp Bar, Pawleys Island, SC and Las Vegas, NV; Chris Prosperi, Chef/Owner, Metro Bis, Simsbury, CT; Pilar Sanchez, Food Network Co-Host and Chef/Owner, Restaurant Pilar, Napa, CA; John Tesar, Executive Chef, The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Dallas, TX; Brian Young, Executive Chef, The Tavern on the Green, New York, NY.

This year’s sensational wine and food event will feature eight sumptuous Friday night Vintner Dinners held in private residences. The Chef and Vintners will be paired with the hosts of each party, and the eagerly awaited pairings will be announced by the Committee in November at the annual “Pairings Party”.

The centerpiece of the weekend is The Bacchanal & Auction held Saturday evening at the Boca Raton Resort & Club. It features a dynamic reception with a silent auction, an amazing dinner created by the Vintner Dinner Chefs and Vintners and the exciting live auction, with fabulous wine and lifestyle lots up for bid.

Sunday is The Grand Tasting held at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, and features a culinary marketplace and over 140 wines to sample and “by the bite” specialties of 30 local restaurants. Raise Your Glass!, a luncheon and cooking demonstration presented by Florida Table and Hosted by Boca Bacchanal and Lynn University College of Hospitality Management rounds out the festivities on March 7, 2008.

The proceeds from Boca Bacchanal benefit the Boca Raton Historical Society’s Heritage Education Programs, which take the past, as well as the unfolding history and heritage of Boca Raton, into the community.
