Boca Raton Historical Society’s Heritage Education Programs to Benefit

BOCA RATON, FL – (September 28, 2005) Cheers! Its time to mark your calendar and clear your schedule for a tasty weekend of fun. Planning for the Fourth Annual Boca Bacchanal Winefest & Auction, the Boca Raton Historical Society’s largest and most eagerly anticipated fundraiser, is in full swing with the committee holding regular meetings and invitations already out to some of the nation’s top chefs and an international array of acclaimed vintners.

Scheduled for March 10-11, 2006, this year’s sensational wine and food event will feature sumptuous Friday night Vintner Dinners held in private residences, followed on Saturday by informative wine seminars by world-class experts and a delectable Grand Tasting at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park. Festivities will conclude Saturday evening at the Boca Raton Resort and Club with the magnificent Bacchanal, featuring a dynamic reception, an amazing dinner created by acclaimed chefs and prized vintners, and the exciting auction, with fabulous wine and lifestyle lots up for bid.

“We are keeping some details under wraps until we have all of the chefs and vintners confirmed, but I have seen the list and I can tell you this will be one of the top food and wine events in the country,” said Peter H. Page, the Boca Raton Historical Society President. . “One good way to keep up with developing news is to visit our always current website at www.bocabacchanal.com. The committee is going to ‘uncork’ the final Vintner Dinner chef and vintner pairings at a special party in January, so stay tuned!”

This year’s edition of Boca Bacchanal will benefit the Boca Raton Historical Society’s Heritage Education Programs, which take the past, as well as the unfolding history and heritage of Boca Raton, into the community. Partners include the Boys and Girls Club of Boca Raton, the School District of Palm Beach County, the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Florida Atlantic University, the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, the Junior League of Boca Raton, Operation Lifesaver, Sun-Sentinel Newspapers in Education, Visit Palm Beach and the Boca Raton News.

Once again National Distributing Company, The Boca Raton Resort & Club, Boca Raton Magazine and The Wine News are among the major sponsors. Prime sponsorship opportunities are currently available for Boca Bacchanal, and the committee is also welcoming volunteers for all aspects of the events.

“Our goal is to involve the entire community,” Page said, adding that he expects many visitors from around the country and from Europe to attend.

Volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, as well as a variety of ticket pricings and weekend packages, are now available.
