Dinner # 1: Chef Cass’s Sassy Cape Malay Safari Join Chef Cass Abrahams, an internationally known authority on the distinctive Cape Malay cuisine of the Cape Town region of South Africa, as she brings the best of her homeland to Boca Raton. Chef, teacher and author, Cass has wisdom, talent and love of her heritage infusing her highly praised work. Jaco Potgieter will be pouring the best of his South African portfolio to match each delectable and flavorful course. The Bistro's grounds surround guests with aromas from the garden, whose bounty finds home in many of her recipes. Chef Donna is also starring in an “encore” performance at her newest venture, La Luce at Hilton Bonnet Creek, in Orlando. Tony Apostolakos, of Masi Agricola, the famous wine producer in Italy’s Veneto area near Venice, is the perfect partner for this dinner, which is flavored with California, French and Italian accents. On board will be Chef Peng Looi, who will create his award-winning Pan-Asian specialties, and Chef Paula DaSilva, the Bravo Network’s “Hell’s Kitchen” rising star and Boca Bacchanal’s “ South Florida Ambassador”, who will present her celebrated style. Steve Thomson of Oregon’s King Estate winery is bringing the perfect wines to sip along with the offerings of two top toques. Chef Lee Hillson, a Phoenix phenom and Iron Chef standout performer who challenged Iron Chef Cat Cora, promises to cook up some palate-pleasing surprises. Since then he has been featured in Bon Appétit, Food & Wine, USA Today and dozens of other national publication, has appeared on many network TV broadcasts. He recently was named the “Best Chef in the South” by the James Beard Foundation. What better than to pair him with two other huge winners: Champagne Taittinger and Clos Du Val!
