Vintners, Chefs and Venues for Vintner Dinners Announced
At Boca Bacchanal Pairing Party
Boca Raton, Fl – (January 17, 2006) The Boca Raton Historical Society has announced the pairings of the Vintner Dinner chefs, vintners and venues for Boca Bacchanal, the weekend winefest and auction planned for March 10, 11 to benefit its Heritage Education Programs. There will be eight extraordinary and delicious Vintner Dinners on Friday, March 10, to launch the festivities.
The announcement was made at an exciting “Pairings Party” hosted by the Boca Raton Resort & Club and Executive Chef Andrew Roenbeck. At the party, attended by Vintner Dinner hosts, event partners and committee members, guests enjoyed hors d’ oeuvres and a variety of wines provided by National Distributing Company. Boca Bacchanal Chairmen Ginny and Peter Page, along with Honorary Chairs Cathy and Mike Arts, offered a toast to the Boca Bacchanal Vintner Dinner hosts, who will soon be welcoming celebrated chefs and prized vintners into their magnificent homes, creating memorable evenings of sensational food and wine.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of our gracious hosts and event partners, who totally underwrite these dinners so that we can donate 100% of the proceeds to the beneficiaries,” Page said. “This year we have eight homes, all located in magnificent settings, and they will each be an outstanding backdrop for the events.”
The Boca Raton Historical Society has invited some of the top chefs in the country and two prominent chefs from Spain to Boca Bacchanal. “We give great attention to how we match the chefs with the vintners so that each complements the other’s distinctive style,” said Chris Kearney of National Distributing Company, and the Wine Advisory Chairman of Boca Bacchanal. “Then the chefs create their menu and work with the vintner to pair each course with the perfect wine, bearing in mind that each vintner is pouring the top of their portfolio. The result is an amazing collaboration.”
Boca Bacchanal, will feature fine wine gatherings, an evening of superb vintner dinners on Friday, March 10, and the Grand Tasting, an afternoon “by the bite” food and wine tasting on the green at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park, featuring 25 restaurants and over 140 different wines, and wine seminars by noted authority Michael Weiss, on Saturday afternoon, March 11.
The centerpiece of the festivities will be held Saturday evening by The Bacchanal & Auction at the Boca Raton Resort & Club with the chef’s reception, followed by a multi- course dinner created by the vintner dinner chefs presided over by the Resort’s Executive Chef, Andrew Roenbeck, and live and silent auctions. The live auction will showcase a remarkable array of premium wine and luxurious lifestyle lots, and will be orchestrated by famed auction house, Christie’s.
Boca Bacchanal is the major fundraising event of the BRHS. Proceeds from Boca Bacchanal 2006 will benefit the Heritage Education Programs of the Boca Raton Historical Society.
