Boca Bacchanal Uncorks Vintner Dinner Pairings
Boca Raton, Fl – December 1, 2008 - Cheers! The Boca Bacchanal Committee has announced the pairings of the Vintner Dinner Chefs and Vintners, who will be coming to the event from across the USA, Europe and Australia, for its weekend winefest and auction planned for February 27 - March 1, 2009. This is the seventh edition of the popular food and wine weekend, which benefits the Heritage Education Programs of the Boca Raton Historical Society. There will eight extraordinary and delicious Vintner Dinners on Friday, February 27, to launch the festivities.
The announcement was made at the annual “Pairings Party” hosted by the Raton Resort & Club and Executive Chef Andrew Roenbeck. At the party, attended by Vintner Dinner hosts, event partners, committee members and enthusiastic patrons, guests enjoyed hors d’ oeuvres and a variety of wines provided by Founding Partner, Republic National Distributing Company (RNC).
Boca Bacchanal Honorary Chairmen Bill and Sharon Shubin, along with Chairmen Janie and Duncan Lott, celebrated a toast to the Boca Bacchanal Vintner Dinner hosts, who soon will be welcoming celebrated chefs and prized vintners into their homes, creating memorable evenings of sensational food and wine.
“We are so grateful for the generosity of our gracious hosts and event partners, who completely underwrite these dinners so that we can donate 100% of the proceeds to the Boca Raton Historical Society,” Duncan Lott said. “This year we have eight homes as venues. All are located in magnificent settings, and they will each be an outstanding backdrop for the dinners.”
The Boca Bacchanal Committee has invited some of the top chefs in the U.S. to Boca Bacchanal. “We give great attention to how we match the chefs with the vintners so that each complements the other’s distinctive style,” said Chris Kearney of RNC and the Wine Advisory Chairman of Boca Bacchanal. “Then the chefs create their menu and work with the vintner to pair each course with the perfect wine, bearing in mind that each vintner is pouring the top of their portfolio. The result is an amazing collaboration.”
The three-day affair will feature the Friday evening Vintner Dinners and a Sunday alfresco Grand Tasting at Mizner Park Amphitheatre. The event’s centerpiece, The Bacchanal & Auction, will comprise a wine and spirits reception presented by the Vintner Dinner Chefs and Vintners, a silent and live auction and a lavish dinner. It will take place Saturday evening at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, where patrons of the auction will vie for a host of rare wines and superb lifestyle lots.
A new addition to Boca Bacchanal this year is a Young Friends Vintner Dinner, for Boca Raton Historical Society members who are under 40 years old, to be held on Thursday, February 26th at the historic Train Depot in Boca Raton. Shaun Foley, the “rising “ Executive Sous Chef at Café Maxx in Pompano Beach, will team with Ravenswood winery to create that dinner.
Event partners include Republic National Distributing Company, The Boca Raton Resort & Club, Boca Raton Magazine, The Wine News, Cendyn, Carla Marsh Public Relations, Crown Wine & Spirits, Daphne Seybolt Culpeper Memorial Foundation, Legal Sea Foods, Mrs. Elaine J.
