You will be once you arrive at Boca Bacchanal’s Grand Tasting, a by-the-bite luncheon revelry on the green, Saturday, March 11, 2006 from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park Ampitheater. The event is part of the two-day Boca Bacchanal Winefest & Auction presented by the Boca Raton Historical Society. Boca Bacchanal is the major fundraising event of the BRHS and is held to benefit its Heritage Education Programs. These innovative, diverse and rapidly growing programs are widely utilized and appreciated throughout area schools, civic and cultural organizations, and interested individuals. Heritage Education Program Partners include Boca Raton Museum of Art, Boys and Girls Club of Boca Raton, Florida Atlantic University, Junior League of Boca Raton, and the School District of Palm Beach County. Enjoy a guilt-free exploration of wanton white wines and refined reds. Don't worry—this is all about learning to enjoy your wines! You will have the opportunity to sample different styles of white and red wines. The seminar will include clues on tasting wines, and possible food pairings for the specific wines we will taste. The tasting will focus on wines from California and Italy, and include an ‘insider’s look’ at what shapes their personalities. Seminar Two: Enjoy a tasting of exclusively red wines at this fascinating seminar. We will compare two classic growing regions of Europe, Rioja from Spain, and Montalcino from Italy. We will discuss what shapes the textures and flavors of these wines, as well as the foods of the regions in which they are produced. Additionally, we will taste a "flight" of four syrah based wines—three from California and one from Italy—and discuss Syrah’s increasing popularity and its potentials with different cuisines. The Auction and Dinner - Saturday, March 11, 2006 - Set at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, The Bacchanal Auction & Dinner will be a delicious fantasy of sensational food and great wine presented by the Vintner Dinner Chefs and Wineries, presided over by Resort Executive Andrew Roenbeck, and followed by an exciting auction orchestrated by respected master auctioneer Dawn Marie Kotsonis. 6:30 PM Reception, Dinner & Auction NOTE: Special Ticket Packages including all events are available.
